Last updated: May 17, 2026

BadWolfMC respects your privacy and tries to collect only the information we reasonably need to operate, protect, moderate, and improve our community.

This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and how cookies or similar technologies may be used on our website and related services.

By using BadWolfMC’s websites, Minecraft servers, Discord community, shop, tools, maps, applications, or other services, you agree to this Privacy & Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Services.

Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

BadWolfMC is an independent, community-run, adults-only Minecraft server.

In this policy:

“You,” “your,” “user,” “member,” and “player” mean anyone who visits, applies to, joins, purchases from, or otherwise uses BadWolfMC.

This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Server Rules.

If we determine or reasonably believe that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we may delete that information, deny access, remove accounts, or take other appropriate action.

We do not sell your personal information.

BadWolfMC is a small community-run service, but we still process information for practical and lawful reasons.

Depending on the situation, we may process information because:

  • it is needed to provide the Services you requested;
  • it is needed to review your application or membership;
  • it is needed to process a payment or subscription;
  • it is needed for moderation, safety, security, anti-fraud, or abuse prevention;
  • it is needed to comply with legal, accounting, tax, payment, or platform requirements;
  • you gave consent for a specific optional use, such as optional analytics cookies;
  • we have a legitimate community, security, administrative, or operational reason to process it.

6. Discord, Minecraft, and Community Accounts

BadWolfMC uses Minecraft and Discord as core parts of the community.

When you use BadWolfMC, we may process Minecraft usernames, UUIDs, Discord usernames, Discord IDs, linked account information, server activity, chat activity, role information, and moderation records.

This information may be used to:

  • confirm your identity as a member;
  • connect your Minecraft account to your Discord account;
  • manage Discord roles or server access;
  • apply ranks or permissions;
  • investigate moderation issues;
  • detect ban evasion or duplicate accounts;
  • protect the community from abuse.

Discord and Minecraft/Microsoft process information under their own privacy policies and terms. BadWolfMC does not control how those third-party platforms process information outside our own Services.

7. Applications, Forms, and Google Workspace

BadWolfMC may use forms, spreadsheets, documents, or other tools to manage applications, support requests, staff workflows, event planning, moderation records, or community operations.

This may include Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google Drive, Gmail, or similar services.

Information submitted through those tools may be stored with the service provider and accessed by authorized BadWolfMC staff for community-related purposes.

Google processes information according to Google’s own privacy policies. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

8. Payments and Store Services

BadWolfMC may use third-party payment processors and store tools to process payments, subscriptions, donations, ranks, and other support options.

Payment processors may collect and process payment information, billing details, fraud signals, device information, and transaction data according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

BadWolfMC uses the information we receive from payment processors to:

  • confirm payment;
  • apply ranks or perks;
  • manage subscriptions;
  • respond to payment support requests;
  • investigate fraud, chargebacks, or disputes;
  • maintain accounting and administrative records.

You should review the privacy policies of any payment processor used at checkout.

9. YouTube and Embedded Media

BadWolfMC may embed videos or other media from YouTube or similar third-party services.

Where practical, we may use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode through the youtube-nocookie.com domain. This reduces certain tracking behavior compared with standard YouTube embeds, but it does not make YouTube or Google disappear as third parties.

Embedded media may still allow the provider to receive information such as your IP address, browser information, device information, referring page, and interactions with the embedded media, especially when you play or interact with the video.

YouTube and Google process information according to their own privacy policies. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

10. Analytics

BadWolfMC may use privacy-conscious analytics tools or Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website and to improve the site over time.

Analytics may collect information such as:

  • pages visited;
  • approximate location;
  • device type;
  • browser type;
  • referral source;
  • time spent on pages;
  • general usage patterns.

If Google Analytics is used, we intend to load it only according to your analytics consent preferences where required or appropriate. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions.

We do not use analytics to personally identify ordinary visitors.

11. Cloudflare and Security Services

BadWolfMC may use Cloudflare or similar services for security, performance, caching, bot protection, DDoS mitigation, firewall rules, and content delivery.

Cloudflare may process information such as IP addresses, device information, request headers, browser information, security events, and challenge results. Cloudflare may set security cookies, including cookies such as cf_clearance, to verify that a visitor has passed a security challenge or bot check.

These cookies are generally considered essential because they help protect the website and allow legitimate visitors to reach the site.

Cloudflare processes information according to its own policies. You can review Cloudflare’s cookie information at https://developers.cloudflare.com/fundamentals/reference/policies-compliances/cloudflare-cookies/.

12. Authentication and Private Areas

BadWolfMC may operate private, member-only, staff-only, or admin-only areas.

These areas may use authentication providers such as Discord login, Authentik, or similar systems. These tools may process account identifiers, login events, group or role membership, email addresses, usernames, session information, and access logs.

Private areas are intended to protect staff, member, and administrative content. Access may be logged for security, moderation, and operational purposes.

13. Public Content and Community Spaces

Some areas of BadWolfMC are public or visible to other users, such as Minecraft chat, Discord messages, public builds, screenshots, forum posts, wiki edits, comments, events, streams, or social media posts.

If you choose to share personal information in public or semi-public community spaces, other users may see, copy, screenshot, quote, archive, or share it. BadWolfMC cannot control what other users do with information you choose to make public.

Please be careful about what you share.

14. When We Share Information

BadWolfMC does not sell your personal information.

We may share information when reasonably necessary with:

  • staff or administrators who need access to operate or moderate the community;
  • hosting providers;
  • payment processors;
  • email or communication providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • security and anti-abuse providers;
  • authentication providers;
  • form, document, or spreadsheet providers;
  • legal, accounting, or professional advisers;
  • law enforcement, regulators, platforms, or other authorities where required or appropriate;
  • third parties involved in investigating fraud, abuse, threats, chargebacks, or security incidents.

We may also share limited information to enforce the Server Rules, protect users, prevent harm, respond to legal requests, comply with payment processor rules, or defend BadWolfMC’s rights and interests.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures to protect information.

These may include HTTPS, access controls, account permissions, firewalls, security monitoring, backups, authentication systems, limited staff access, and other safeguards.

However, no online service can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You understand that information transmitted over the internet may be accessed, intercepted, altered, or lost despite our efforts.

If we become aware of a security issue that affects your information, we will take reasonable steps to respond appropriately.

16. Data Retention

BadWolfMC keeps information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, payment processor rules, tax/accounting rules, platform requirements, security needs, or community moderation needs.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information.

For example:

  • application records may be kept to manage membership and prevent fraud or ban evasion;
  • moderation records may be kept to enforce rules and protect the community;
  • payment records may be kept for accounting, tax, refund, chargeback, and fraud-prevention reasons;
  • server logs may be kept for security, troubleshooting, or moderation and may be deleted or rotated over time;
  • backups may retain information for a limited time before being overwritten;
  • public posts or community content may remain visible unless removed, anonymized, or archived.

17. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. These may include the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to certain processing.

You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To make a privacy request, contact us through the method listed on our Contact page.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. We will try to use reasonable verification methods that are appropriate to the request and the information involved.

Some requests may be limited where we need to retain information for security, moderation, legal, accounting, tax, payment, anti-fraud, abuse-prevention, or community-safety reasons.

For example, we may not delete or fully remove records needed to enforce bans, investigate misconduct, prevent fraud, maintain transaction records, preserve evidence, comply with law, or protect the community.

18. California and United States Privacy Notes

BadWolfMC does not sell personal information.

BadWolfMC is a small community-run service and may not be subject to every privacy law that applies to large commercial data processors. However, we still try to honor reasonable privacy requests where practical and consistent with our legal, security, moderation, and operational needs.

If you are a California resident or have rights under another applicable privacy law, you may contact us through the method listed on our Contact page.

19. International Visitors

BadWolfMC is operated from the United States.

If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in the United States or other countries where BadWolfMC or our service providers operate.

The privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

20. Email Communications

BadWolfMC may use your email address to respond to inquiries, manage applications, provide support, send service-related messages, handle payment issues, or communicate about your account or membership.

We do not currently send routine marketing emails. If we do send marketing emails in the future, we will provide a way to unsubscribe where required.

Important service-related, transactional, account, moderation, payment, or security messages may still be sent even if you opt out of marketing messages.

21. Changes to This Privacy Policy

BadWolfMC may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide notice through the website, Discord server, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of the Services after an updated policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.

22. Contact

Questions about this Privacy & Cookie Policy may be sent through the method listed on our Contact page.

Cookie Policy

23. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites. They can help websites remember settings, keep you logged in, protect against abuse, understand site traffic, or provide embedded third-party features.

Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, tags, scripts, embedded content, or other browser-based storage.

24. Hugo and Cookies

BadWolfMC’s public website is built with Hugo, a static site generator.

A basic static Hugo page does not need to set cookies by itself. However, cookies or similar technologies may be used by features and services added to the site, such as:

  • Cloudflare security;
  • cookie consent preferences;
  • theme or display preferences;
  • YouTube embeds;
  • analytics tools;
  • payment processors;
  • embedded third-party content;
  • authenticated private areas;
  • future forms, tools, or integrations.

This means the new BadWolfMC site should generally use fewer cookies than the old WordPress site, but it may still use cookies where they are useful, necessary, or provided by third-party services.

BadWolfMC may use the following categories of cookies or similar technologies.

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are needed for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, consent management, access control, or basic site operation.

These may include:

  • Cloudflare security cookies;
  • cookies or local storage that remember cookie consent choices;
  • authentication/session cookies for private areas;
  • checkout or payment-related cookies where needed;
  • anti-spam or abuse-prevention cookies.

Essential cookies cannot usually be disabled through our consent banner because the site or related service may not work properly without them.

Preference Cookies

Preference cookies or local storage help remember choices you make.

These may include:

  • light/dark/auto theme preference;
  • cookie consent preferences;
  • display or accessibility preferences;
  • other site settings.

Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve pages, navigation, content, performance, and user experience.

If Google Analytics is used, it may set cookies such as _ga or related cookies to distinguish users and sessions.

Analytics cookies should only be used according to your consent preferences where required or appropriate.

Embedded Media Cookies

Embedded media cookies or similar technologies may be set by services such as YouTube when videos or other media are embedded on the site.

Where practical, BadWolfMC may use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed mode through youtube-nocookie.com. Even with privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube or Google may receive information when embedded media loads or when you interact with it.

Marketing Cookies

BadWolfMC does not currently intend to use advertising, remarketing, or behavioral marketing cookies.

If that changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, request consent before using those cookies.

The exact cookies used may change over time as services are added, removed, or updated.

BadWolfMC may provide a cookie consent banner or preference manager.

The banner may allow you to:

  • accept all optional cookies;
  • reject optional cookies;
  • manage cookie categories;
  • update your choices later.

Essential cookies will remain active because they are needed for security, access, consent management, payment processing, or basic site operation.

Optional categories may include:

  • Marketing, if ever used.

If you reject optional cookies, some features may be limited, unavailable, or less personalized.

28. YouTube Hero Video and Embedded Media

BadWolfMC may use a YouTube video as part of the homepage hero or other site content.

Because the homepage video is part of the site’s presentation and first impression, BadWolfMC may load privacy-enhanced YouTube embeds without blocking the hero behind a separate media consent screen. Where practical, we will use YouTube’s youtube-nocookie.com domain for embedded YouTube videos.

This does not mean YouTube is entirely cookie-free or tracking-free. YouTube or Google may still receive technical information and may set cookies or use similar technologies, especially when you play or interact with embedded videos.

You can control some YouTube and Google privacy settings through Google’s own privacy controls.

29. How to Control Cookies

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • use the BadWolfMC cookie banner or preference manager at any time using the button below or the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer;
  • change your browser settings to block or delete cookies;
  • use private browsing or browser privacy tools;
  • use third-party privacy extensions;
  • manage Google settings through Google’s privacy and ad settings;
  • use tools such as the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, where available.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, some parts of the site or related services may not work correctly.

30. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies or similar technologies may be controlled by third parties, not BadWolfMC.

These may include:

  • Cloudflare;
  • Google;
  • YouTube;
  • Discord;
  • payment processors;
  • authentication providers;
  • embedded media or social platforms;
  • analytics providers.

BadWolfMC does not control all cookies or storage used by third-party services. You should review those services’ privacy and cookie policies for more information.

We may update this Cookie Policy as our website, services, tools, analytics, embeds, payment systems, or security providers change.

When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and may provide notice through the website, Discord server, or another reasonable method.
